Our Vision
At Hark Angel, our vision is to build 100 schools in places the world has forgotten. Sadly 1 in every 6 children in the world are still involved in child labor. We want to help change that for the better. Hark Angel’s goal is to empower communities and children to change their lives through education.
We are building the first 30 of these schools in Myanmar, working with the locals to ensure that the school will continue to thrive once it is complete.
Our Story
After previous involvement in charity work in both Africa and Mynamar, Richie Harkham decided to found his own not for profit organisation. The catalyst for this was Richie’s desire to honor the memory of a young boy who provided a donor knee after Richie was involved in a serious accident. Hark Angel built a school in the donor's honor, so that his memory can live on through the improved lives of the children attending.
Education for these children is a privilege. Despite their tough circumstances, these children are incredibly grateful, happy, humble and kind. And more than anything else that are hungry to learn, as they understand that education is their key to a better future.
